Yes, I'm going to tell you the answer, but before I do, consider this.
Sometimes it is ego. Sometimes we forget.
But one of the biggest mistakes we make as marketers is:
Failing to test.
No matter how long we have been marketing, it is still presumptuous to guess the result of a headline, of a mailing effort, of an advertisement, or of a recruiting campaign.
In fact, the longer we have been in marketing, the worse it gets!
Why?
Because the longer we’ve been an independent contractor, the longer we’ve been an entrepreneur, the longer we’ve been a network marketing distributor . . . well, that just means that it has been a long time since we
actually thought like a prospect.
Trust me. You and I don’t think like prospects any more. (If we thought like prospects, we’d still be a prospect, right?)
The only thing we can do now is guess what the prospect thinks. We’re no longer “one of them.”
Yet most network marketers just guess or think up a headline, a first sentence, or an offer. They just guess. Maybe they think they have psychic powers?
Well, if you think you have psychic powers, consider this. Even the professional psychics insist on getting their money up front
before they start their guessing. I think they know that guessing is a bit risky.
Michael understands this concept. That's why he tests first to
determine what will work before he shares a headline or an ad with his
team.
So, before you blindly place an ad, ask the person sharing the ad with you:
"Did you test this ad before you encouraged
me to spend my money testing it for you?"
Ouch.
By the way, the ad that actually generated more responses was the one that
offered $300 extra a month in income.
Why did this ad pull better?
I could tell
you, but then I'd be guessing.
That is why I test everything first.
